The Spanish region of Valencia has proposed banning prostitution, claiming it violates the fundamental human rights of women. The socialist politician Gabriela Bravo is seeking to put an end to prostitution not only in Valencia but is also hoping the measures pressure the national government to move against it as well. The politician states it's not a problem of public order, the human rights of women.
The proposal is based on laws already enacted in two areas of the region. This has three levels of punishment. The lowest level is the advertisement of prostitution, next it's the negotiation and requesting sexual services. The most serious is if the services occur within 200 meters of a school, parks or isolated places. The fines are applied to the clients, as in the Nordic Model.
What utter tosh this is. Are not these laws taking away the right of women to use their body how they want to generate cash? Applying these laws makes it more difficult to negotiate a safe transaction.
