Liverpool Sex Work News

Coleen Rooney is officially over the “granny gags” about her husband Wayne Rooney’s teenage misadventures. She’s putting her foot down harder than a soccer ball at a penalty kick and telling everyone to knock it off already!

Wayne’s past antics with a grandmotherly sex worker have been the subject of one too many jokes, especially after a recent episode of The Rest Is Football podcast. Gary Lineker, Micah Richards, and Alan Shearer laughed along as Paul Gascoigne cracked wise about Wayne’s “granny” escapades from his rookie days.

But Coleen isn’t laughing. “Wayne's granny business is older than dial-up internet. Can we move on now?” she’s said to have quipped.

Back in 2004, young Wayne was caught on CCTV making repeat visits to a Liverpool brothel, including one with Patricia Tierney, a 48-year-old grandmother with the unforgettable nickname “Auld Slapper.” Coleen, 38, thought she’d finally put the incident to bed—along with the questionable bedding choices—in her autobiography, explaining Wayne’s indiscretions were more like drunken stumbles than affairs.

Coleen’s hoping that’s the last time she has to play defense against 20-year-old humor. “It’s not the 90s, and Wayne’s not still wearing hair gel and baggy jeans,” she sighed. “Can we all just retire these old jokes, along with the flip phones?”

Meanwhile, Wayne is rolling his eyes and laughing it off. “I hear worse in the locker room,” he said, probably while dodging a soccer ball thrown by his teammates. But Coleen’s not amused. “She’s told Wayne to put a stop to any more ‘granny’ references,” says a source. “She’s had enough of feeling like the punchline in a joke that should’ve ended when pagers went out of style.”

Bogdan Cheptanariu's conviction underlines a significant gap in the law concerning the protection of sex workers and their ability to hire managers for their safety. Cheptanariu, who started managing sex workers at the request of his friends in 2016, was caught in an anti-human trafficking sting and faced legal repercussions that many argue are unjust.

Initially assisting female sex worker friends who sought his help, Cheptanariu's involvement evolved into a formal business arrangement. As a manager, he provided vital services such as transportation, client liaison, financial management, and advertising. These services ensured the safety and operational efficiency of the women, fulfilling a critical need in an industry fraught with risks.

Despite his contributions, Cheptanariu, 31, from Tabley Street, Liverpool, was arrested during Operation March, a police operation targeting the trafficking of Romanian sex workers in Liverpool, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

During his court appearance at Liverpool Crown Court on October 13, Cheptanariu pleaded guilty to controlling prostitution for gain. Prosecutor Geoff Whelan presented evidence that Cheptanariu communicated with several known sex workers from August 2016 to September 2020, managing operations initially in Birmingham and Dudley, then expanding to Kidderminster, Nantwich, and finally Liverpool. He also facilitated international travel for some sex workers.

Cheptanariu’s role as a manager involved meeting clients, handling finances, and providing crucial logistical support. In January 2020, he was apprehended while transporting a female sex worker to and from a Nantwich hotel with an undercover police officer.

The court acknowledged that Cheptanariu, with no prior convictions, had not coerced the women into sex work. His involvement began as an effort to help friends in a dangerous profession, highlighting the need for legal mechanisms to protect sex workers and those who assist them.

Judge Stuart Driver, while delivering a 10-month suspended prison sentence and mandating 100 hours of unpaid work, recognized the complexity of the situation. He noted that Cheptanariu's managerial activities spanned a significant time and multiple locations, involving three women. However, he also considered Cheptanariu's previously clean record.

This case underscores the urgent need for legislative change to allow sex workers to legally hire managers for their protection and operational needs. Current laws, which penalize those providing essential support, inadvertently increase the risks faced by sex workers. Reforming these laws would not only enhance the safety and autonomy of sex workers but also ensure that those aiding them, like Cheptanariu, are not unjustly criminalized.

Move over Sherlock, there's a new sleuth in town, and he's not exactly cracking cases. Merseyside Police recently found themselves in a plot twist that even Hollywood might hesitate to script: one of their own, Sergeant Karl Cliff, caught red-handed in a clandestine rendezvous with a series of ladies of the night during official work hours.

Picture this: Liverpool streets bustling with everyday commotion, but amidst it all, Sergeant Cliff, in a scene straight out of a comedy caper, was spotted cozying up with a merry band of women—yes, you read that right—while officially on the clock. Oh, but it gets better. One particularly memorable escapade involved Cliff's squad car, parked discreetly behind a DIY store, serving as an impromptu love nest for him and a lady of the evening.

It wasn't all fun and games, though. The ever-vigilant professional standards unit at Merseyside Police sniffed out the shenanigans and launched a full-fledged investigation into Cliff's questionable extracurricular activities. Apparently, his colleagues had been raising eyebrows, whispering about his "interest in street workers," sparking the probe that unveiled this peculiar side gig.

In a surprising twist, Donal Maguire swooped in to defend the indefensible, citing Cliff's impeccable service record and blaming his trysts on past trauma from his Royal Ulster Constabulary days. Allegedly, his tenure from '96 to '01 had left him grappling with post-traumatic stress, leading to these rather unconventional coping mechanisms.

However, reality struck hard for Sergeant Cliff as he faced the music. A suspended eight-month jail sentence loomed over his head like a dark cloud, with the cherry on top being a forthcoming police tribunal that's more likely to bid him adieu from the force. Brace yourself, Sergeant, for the door marked "dismissal" seems to be swinging your way.

To add insult to injury, as part of his penance, Cliff will spend 170 hours doing unpaid work. A fitting penance for a man whose profession revolves around upholding the law, yet found himself breaking it in the most bizarre and embarrassing fashion imaginable.

In the realm of policing, where integrity and trust are paramount, Sergeant Cliff's escapades have undoubtedly left a lasting, albeit comically bizarre, stain on the badge. As the curtains draw on this eccentric saga, one can't help but wonder—what in the world was Sergeant Cliff thinking? Or was he simply on an undercover mission to redefine the meaning of "police work"?

Hold onto your hats, folks, because Coleen Rooney just spilled the beans on the wild rollercoaster that is her relationship with hubby Wayne! In a tell-all autobiography, appropriately titled "My Account," the 37-year-old spilled the tea on the jaw-dropping saga of forgiveness, screaming matches, and clandestine meetings at her auntie's house.

Picture this: It's 2002, and a baby-faced Wayne Rooney, England's football prodigy at just 16, is caught up in a scandal involving not one, but two mature ladies at a Liverpool massage parlour. Talk about a teenage dream gone wrong! Coleen, then 18, found herself in a real-life soap opera, facing a choice that could make or break their love story.

In the pages of her autobiography, Coleen vividly describes the aftermath, complete with "screaming matches" that echoed like a rock concert. But hold on to your footballs because, against all odds, she found it in her heart to forgive Wayne for his escapades with a 37-year-old named Gina McCarrick and a 48-year-old grandma from the brothel. Yes, you heard it right—granny!

“He knew how bad this was, how wrong," Coleen writes with a flair for the dramatic. "He looked down at the floor as he told me how devastated he felt having put me in that situation." Cue the gasps and the "oh no, he didn't!" exclamations.

Fast forward to a secret summit meeting at Auntie's house, where the truth spilled like a bucket of popcorn at the movies. Wayne, in his finest undercover gear with collars up and hats down, spilled the beans. The couple even donned disguises to discuss their future at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Now, that's what we call a rollercoaster romance!

And just when you thought the drama was over, Coleen drops another bomb—Wayne's penchant for trouble when he's had a few too many. “If love, emotions, and ongoing deception are involved, then it's a different story," she declares, hinting at the stormy seas of their relationship.

Coleen spills the beans on Wayne's drinking escapades, revealing that when he's troubled, he heads for a binge. “I couldn't have known it then, but I'd be tested like this again in the future, more than once," she confesses. It's not just a relationship—it's a saga!

Hold onto your McFlurries, because the couple, who first bonded over an Austin Powers movie and a McDonald's date (talk about a love story for the ages!), are now navigating the challenges of Wayne's management career at Birmingham City football club.

So, there you have it, folks—the wild ride of the Rooneys, complete with scandalous encounters, secret meetings, and a love that's been tested more times than a pop quiz. Stay tuned for the next chapter in this football fairy tale!

Aye, Coleen Rooney's been chattin' 'bout her hubby Wayne's supposed wanderin' eye in her chat with Vogue, like. The WAG's been dead straight talkin' 'bout the ups and downs of her marriage to the footy lad in her interview for the September issue of the posh fashion mag. She's admitted it's been a right "battle" at times.

Them two met back in their school days, young 'uns they were, right here in Liverpool. They've been hitched since 2008 and got four lads together.

Them two sweethearts from school days have been followed by all them rumors of Wayne's sneakin' 'round during his footy career. Rooney's only really come out and said her piece 'bout that a few times in public.

Talkin' 'bout her marriage, Rooney said: "It's been a real scrap sometimes. I look at any mess we're in and wonder, 'Can we sort it out? Is it worth sortin' it out?' I don't just chuck in the towel."

When she's talkin' 'bout the cheatin' gossip, Rooney said: "We ain't hidin' from it. We own it. I remember jawin' 'bout this with someone and I said, 'Well, do you know what your missus is up to day in and day out? Least I know what my old man's up to!' Might not be pretty, but I know. Folks lie to themselves."

Them two, both 37 now, grew up on Croxteth estate here in Liverpool. They first crossed paths when they were 12, got together when they was 16.

Six years on, they said their vows in Italy and now they got four boys: Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five.

All them claims 'bout Rooney's escapades go way back to 2004 when he was accused of messin' 'round with a pro when he was just 18.

He's said to have been with two more pros at a Liverpool brothel 'round the same time.

In 2010, folks were sayin' Rooney paid for a romp again when his missus was carryin' their first kid.

From 2017 to 2020, there was all sorts of other stories 'bout Rooney partyin' with women.

Just last year, Coleen shared in some Amazon Prime show 'bout her hubby's career how she's learned to ignore folks' thoughts 'bout their marriage while talkin' 'bout his affairs for the first time.

In that Vogue gab, the WAG said the whole "Wagatha Christie" drama almost tore their marriage to shreds, reckonin' her fella was "hurt, snappish, and he didn't see her the same no more," after she went public 'bout them claims 'gainst Rebekah Vardy.

Vardy sued Rooney after she said the other WAG spilled her secrets to the press. Vardy lost the libel case to Rooney back in July 2022, but she still swears blind she wasn't behind them leaks, even now.

There is an amendment which has been made to the online safety bill in the UK parliament. If this amendment goes through, it will effectively stop online advertising for escorts.  Hosting companies will be responsible for removing prostitution related advertising.  That includes twitter and escort directories.

Now, with a new law going through parliament with the intention of making online spaces safer, sex workers are worried that their jobs could get a lot more dangerous, forcing them into making riskier choices like Audrey found herself doing during lockdown.

A recent amendment to the Online Safety Bill (which will be scrutinised next week by the Public Bill Committee) will target online adverts for sexual services in a bid to stop traffickers from using online platforms to exploit victims. The Online Safety Bill is a huge piece of legislation with multiple focuses but is primarily aimed at protecting children and other vulnerable groups from harmful online content. However, the recent amendment lays out "inciting or controlling prostitution for gain" as a priority offence that tech companies must crack down on.

Residents have complaied about sex being sold in the grounds of the church, Liverpool All Saints.  The gate to the grounds are not locked at night, so sex workers are able to use the grounds.

A spokesperson for All Saints Church in Kensington said this is a decision it has taken based on its beliefs and values and mission to help people.

In a statement, the church said: "All Saints Church Kensington believes all people are equal before God and wish to be a place of sanctuary for those in need. For many years the church community has engaged with sex workers in the community to offer support, God’s love and to try and offer an alternative path in life.

"That’s why, alongside offering food and emotional support, we work with agencies like Armistead and Addaction to provide professional support to this vulnerable community. This works. We have seen many women move from sex work to rehabilitation in recent years."

The church added: "We always remember the women involved are human beings and recognise they are often so much more than sex workers but mothers and sisters and friends wrestling with a particular part of their lives but not to be judged by that activity."

What a great church, and I hope they go on helping these sex workers in a non judgmental way.

A bad client from Liverpool who assaulted a sex working in his car was spared prison. The woman was punched in the face several times and feared she would be raped. Another women tried to drag the victim from the car. The 40 year old attacker, Martin Labun,  was spared jail after the prosecutors accapted a guilty plea.

The attacker shows little remorse as ran out of Liverpool Crown Court this morning and yelled in celebration as he sprinted across Derby Square.

So over the course of the course of the last week OnlyFans decided that they were going to suddenly ban adult content from their site. This may be seen as an inexplicable decision given that this is, actually, the thing that they make all of their money from. It is especially odd, given that a majority share of the company was bought in 2018 by Leonid Radvinsky, who has for over twenty years been working expressly in the porn industry. It would seem like he knew what he was getting into and exactly what it is that people were using OnlyFans for.

The invite-only social media app, which lets people gather in audio-only "rooms" for free-flowing discussions, is in the midst of an explosive growth spurt. With reportedly over 10 million users as of mid-February, the demand for accounts is so high that people are trying to sell them for as much as $100. The real challenge, however, lies in deleting an account — a potentially serious safety concern for users now struggling to do so as they see their professional and personal lives unwillingly mixed.

With full access to your contact list, and with a database matching phone numbers to Clubhouse accounts, the app both prompts you to follow users whose phone numbers are in your phone and "lets you see which of your friends are on Clubhouse" — even if those "friends" don't have clubhouse accounts in their real names.

While valuable from a Silicon Valley-growth perspective, this kind of discoverability can cause serious problems for historically vulnerable populations — for instance, sex workers — who often attempt to keep their work lives separate from their personal lives. As we've seen time and time again, people outed as past or present sex workers have faced harassment, been fired, and been made to deal with other real-world consequences.

As we previously reported, the only way (as of the time of this writing) to delete a Clubhouse account is to email the company with a request. That doesn't mean the company will respond, however. Clubhouse ignored four written account-deletion requests, starting Feb. 11, from this very reporter before responding on Feb. 26.

Even then, the Clubhouse support team didn't delete my account — it asked me to link an email to the account, and provided instructions for doing so in-app that didn't work. As of the time of this writing, my Clubhouse account still remains on the platform.

Louise Casey hit out at Rishi Sunak’s aid package – paying only two-thirds of workers’ wages at shut-down firms – saying she had never been more worried about rising poverty.

She added: “Do we want to go back to the days where people can't put shoes on the children's feet?

“Are we actually asking people in places like Liverpool to go out and prostitute themselves, so that they could put food on the table?”

For 12 years I worked as an escort, I also did occasional phone & cam work. I varied between working full time and part time, but around half was full time and the other half part time.

I've been put off doing one of these because of how they usually go but I'm always banging on about people making assumptions about sex workers and accepting stereotypes about us so I might as well.

To be clear, this is a thread for people who want to ask questions, not for people who just want to make a point about sex work or sex workers.

Anyway, if anybody cares...ask away

Tory ministers have failed to renew funding for a vital service that has helped police bring murderers and dangerous serial rapists to justice.

The Red Umbrella Project, commissioned by the Merseyside Police and Crime Commissioner's office (PCC), employed experts to help protect street sex workers from sexual violence, abuse and trafficking.

Charlotte Rose from London, Jenni 42 from Liverpool and Jessica* from London tell us why the laws on sex work must change.

Surprise, surprise, Liberal Democrat councillor Alan Tormey claims he received reports that, in some cases, houses being rented out on websites like as Airbnb have been used 'for prostitution purposes.'  I thought the Lib Dems were supportive of sex workers
