A dangerous man from Clapham has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for a series of violent attacks on sex workers. Ismail Tajzai, 26, pleaded guilty to multiple charges including robbery, attempted robbery, and strangulation.
The crimes occurred in February 2024 when Tajzai arranged appointments with two sex workers. During the first encounter, he pulled out a gun, tied up the woman, and stole her money. The following day, he attempted to rob another sex worker but was unsuccessful. When the woman resisted, he tried to strangle her.
Detectives launched an investigation and quickly identified Tajzai as the suspect. They collected DNA and fingerprint evidence linking him to the crimes and found a gun and cable ties in his apartment.
Tajzai's actions were described as "particularly dangerous" by police. He targeted vulnerable individuals and deliberately chose victims he believed would be less likely to report the crimes. The victims were praised for their bravery in coming forward.
The sentencing marks the end of a terrifying ordeal for the victims and sends a clear message that such violence will not be tolerated.
