Two criminals have been sentenced to prison for their roles in exploiting women through prostitution in brothels across the West Midlands. George Tandarescu and Andreea Vasile callously advertised the sexual services of vulnerable women, forcing them to endure grueling hours of exploitation each day.
Vasile, 34, and Tandarescu, 36, exercised complete control over the women’s lives, orchestrating sex work at multiple brothels throughout the Midlands. Investigations revealed that the pair used a classified ads website to promote this cruel exploitation of women, who were in their 20s and 30s.
Tandarescu trafficked the women to the West Midlands for the purpose of sex work, with the abuse spanning a three-year period beginning in 2020, police confirmed.
The women, who were frequently moved between different properties, were relentlessly exploited across various brothels. Evidence uncovered by the West Midlands Police linked phones used to advertise the women to Tandarescu and Vasile’s residence on Kimberley Road in Smethwick.
Further investigations connected their bank accounts to the advertising website, with Tandarescu spending over £10,000 to promote these horrific acts. At Birmingham Crown Court, Tandarescu received a five-year prison sentence, while Vasile was sentenced to four years. This case underscores the unacceptable exploitation of vulnerable individuals for profit.
